Why we love hung windows

Effortless opening & closing

Forget about the old kinds of hung windows that took all your strength to open! Our model slides like a charm thanks to the constant force balance system and highly resistant pads concealed within the frame.

Pivoting panes for easy cleaning

Traditional hung window models were hard to clean because you could not wash the exterior from inside. Our model is equipped with an integrated and aesthetic tilt latch system making window panes easy to tilt and clean.

Angled sill to drain water

At Vaillancourt, we have designed an angled sill for our hung windows that allows water to drain easily away from your home. Combined with our window panes, mouldings and double or triple glass options, it is a system exclusive to us.

Hung windows

Constant force balance system for ease of use

The hung window’s stainless steel counterweight system allows the window to be lifted with very little effort, while supporting a heavy load without sagging over time. Additionally, the sliding action is provided by highly resistant shoes concealed inside the frame.

Resistant screen

The screen has a simple fastening system and is easy to clean. Its fibreglass construction makes it robust and weather‑resistant. The screen frame is made of enamelled aluminium.

Practical pane pivoting system

The hung window’s lock system, paired with an aesthetic, recessed tilt latch, allows you to tilt the panels easily. Using buttons at the ends makes cleaning your windows from the inside easy.

Sloped sill for effective drainage

Our hung window’s sloped sill is designed to promote effective water drainage to the exterior, reducing the risk of buildup and infiltration.

Vaillancourt energy‑efficient glass (double or triple)

Energy‑efficient glass features a microscopic metallic coating. Additionally, an inert gas (argon) is inserted between the panes, which helps retain heat during winter and keep cool air in during summer. Besides preventing condensation issues, energy‑efficient glass offers unmatched performance and substantial savings.

1 U factor – W/m2-K (Btu/h ft2-F): Indicates the rate of a material's transfer of heat. The lower the U factor, the higher the window's performance.

2 Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC): Indicates the solar energy that can pass through the window. The higher the coefficient, the higher the window's performance.

3 ER factor: Indicates a window's global energy efficiency. The higher the ER factor, the higher the window's performance.

R factor: Indicates the degree of resistance in a material's temperature transfer. The higher the R factor, the higher the window's performance.
