Manufacturing sustainable doors and windows helps preserve our living spaces, our environment and the future for the generations to come. At Vaillancourt Doors and Windows, this commitment takes the form of concrete actions that guide our strategic decisions and daily operations. As a Quebec-based manufacturer, we strive to more effectively manage our resources, reduce our environmental footprint and promote increasingly responsible local production.

Working together for more responsible manufacturing

Sustainable development cannot be achieved alone. It relies on the involvement of those who contribute to it each and every day. To bring our vision to life, we have implemented an action plan that engages our employees, partners and clients.

Sustainable development committee

To make sustainability a true driving force for action, we have established a committee dedicated to this mindset. Made up of committed members of our team, this committee is tasked with analyzing and implementing concrete initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint and greenhouse gas emissions throughout the company.

Innovative solutions to limit our environmental footprint

Water-based paint

Our water-based paint helps make our doors and windows more ecoresponsible. Formulated using more environmentally friendly raw materials, it reduces risks to human health and the environment.

In addition to its durability, our water-based paint helps minimize environmental impact by reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions by up to 90%.

Reducing raw material waste

To reduce waste at source, we are investing in new equipment that optimizes the use of our raw materials, including by allowing as many parts as possible to be cut from a single piece of material. Dedicated facilities also facilitate the recovery of our recyclable materials, meaning better management of our resources.

PVC can be recycled up to seven times.

Using recycled PVC

Featuring a recycled PVC core, our hybrid casement, awning and fixed windows help reduce the environmental footprint of our products while delivering the durability, performance and esthetics you expect. This approach harnesses recycled materials to create an innovative, sustainable and responsible design.

The frame core of our hybrid product Aurea is made of 100% recycled PVC.

Solar wall

Thanks to our 800 m² solar wall with integrated heat recovery, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with heating our plant. The heat produced by our compressors is also recovered to optimize the energy already generated and minimize our environmental impact.
