Pivoting panes for easy cleaning

Traditional hung window models were hard to clean because you could not wash the exterior from inside. Our model is equipped with an integrated and aesthetic tilt latch system making window panes easy to tilt and clean.

Angled sill to drain water

At Vaillancourt, we have designed an angled sill for our hung windows that allows water to drain easily away from your home. Combined with our window panes, mouldings and double or triple glass options, it is a system exclusive to us.

Hung windows

Choice of single or double hung windows

Single hung windows are comprised of a fixed upper section and a moveable pane in the bottom whereas double hung windows offer two moveable panes.

Vaillancourt energy efficient glass (double or triple)

Our energy efficient glass is equipped with a microscopic metallic film. In addition, an inert gas (argon) is added between the glass panels to preserve interior heat in winter and coolness in summer.

More than just helping relieve condensation issues, energy efficient glass offers unmatched performance and substantial savings.

Hung windows

Constant force balance system for ease of use

The stainless steel constant force balance system allows hung windows to be raised almost effortlessly and they support this heavy load over the years without flinching. In addition, the sliding action is assured thanks to highly resistant pads concealed within the window frame.

Strong screen

Screens offer a simple mounting system that is easy to clean. Manufactured in fiberglass, they are strong and tight. Screen frames are made of enamelled aluminium.

Practical pane pivoting system

The hung window locking system combined with an integrated tilt latch system allow window panes to tilt easily. With the help of buttons on each end, this facilitates cleaning of windows from the inside.

PVC

Sashes and mouldings

Contemporary-style exterior sashes that blend beautifully with our casement and awning family of products. Sashes are equipped with an exterior glazing bead for a perfect finish. Our new streamlined sashes also allow for larger glass surfaces.

All-PVC frame

Multi-chamber 5 5/8" frame made entirely of PVC. Single and double hung window systems are equipped with a unique angled sill that increases performance in terms of water drainage and also facilitates cleaning.

Gasket seal

Invisible gasket seal around the sealed glass, both interior and exterior.

Cavities

Cavities made of 1/2" drywall and 3/4" wood cavities built into the frame.

Double or triple glazing

Standard double 7/8" glazing with non-conductive spacers on the edges. Option of triple 1 1/4" glazing that greatly improves energy performance.

Triple weatherstripping

Hung window systems offer triple brush-style weatherstripping. They are all grey to avoid discolouration and are positioned on the sash for a perfect seal.
